Ya know how to lessen the illegal traffic of marijuana?

MAKE IT LEGAL.

AND BESIDES, the FDA is a government agency so obviously they would never advocate marijuana.

According to this, mayor Giuliani thinks marijuana should be illegal because the FDA says it has no medical benefits. That's great mayor. BUT WHAT DO YOU THINK? USE YOUR BRAIN. I hate this guy.

The illegal trafficking is BECAUSE it's illegal, Rudy. Dumbfuck. It's basic Economics. If you try to ban anything that's in high demand, esp. something like drugs, you just create a black market.

@whoo689 I say add COMPETITION to the drug approval process. Don't REQUIRE fda approval but make it more of a certification. If a co. wants the FDA's seal of approval to help boost its reputation with retailers and consumers, fine. But allow OTHER drug-testing experts (and they do exist with empirical peer-reviewed journals, believe it or not) with good reputations to do testing as well. Competition is almost ALWAYS better than monopoly, and the drug testing would be no different.

@whoo689 The FDA complicated matters when it started an added focus on efficacy alongside safety. Look, I say focus on SAFETY. That should be the top priority. As long as the drugs are safe, the efficacy testing should be at a minimum. Besides, if the drug doesn't work for someone, they can easily get another prescription for a better one. And how many doctors actually prescribe drugs that have ZERO effect at all on the patients that get them? honestly...

The FDA can go to hell. Everyone KNOWS they're in bed with the pharmaceutical companies. Besides, the FDA is just another bogus bureaucracy that can't get with the times and won't admit when it's wrong. Since when is the FDA the barometer of all things medically accurate? I don't trust the FDA at all! Countless studies have shown that the FDA is way too slow, and thousands, if not hundreds of thousands or even millions, of patients DIE waiting for drugs that take too long to get approved.
