The sad part is that the dispersants are more toxic than the oil. Also, the dispersant breaks it up so that it will be ingested by sea life and enter the food chain. So, BP made the problem even worse by trying to hide it.

Someday we will fall under on huge mega corporation made up of a few associates. What greed will do to a group of selfish morons! Why do we tolerate it and kiss their asses for jobs?

BP did it so that the extended of the damages will not been seen on the surface. But that makes the clean up many many times harder, if not impossible. The gulf is doomed.
