Hi, I'm a professional audio engineer currently building a high end, professional recording facility. This video was shot via request in a simple little writing setup I used to have at home (the new studio is scheduled to open up in a few months. Additional info can be found on my profile page).

Feel free to ask a question in the comment section. However, please scan through the questions to see if yours has already been asked and answered.

Adios

PS: Somehow (because of re-shooting) I forgot to mention that any audio interface with a mic input will also have a switch to provide the mic input with fantom power(for condenser mics). You won't need a separate unit.

Additional note: Since making this video I often get questions about usb condenser mic's. If you've read some of the comments you can see I often recommend these. Why? Because it's a great way to start recording. It's cheap and simple. The reason I'm talking about external interfaces is because I was answering a specific question from a subscriber. Usb condensers are a much more cost effective way to get into recording. As always, upgrading further down the line is always an option.

Enjoy.

  • How can i clean up the sound on the mic? Like that way i do hear when i breath, Jus the singing

  • @Johnnypmaster1

What do you mean exactly? You don't want to hear yourself breath?

  • Does an interface make recordings better? I got a samson c01u.

  • @OrionSimm

'Better' recordings are subject to MANY variables. The Samson is a USB mic so it has an integrated interface so you are just fine!
