@triassicranger Yes, I think it did in the early 90s.

@orryverducci Thanks so much!

Cool video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good attention to detail, they put 'Newsroom' on the split screen caption instead of 'Studio'.
I rather like it being broadcast from the newsroom. Very Kirsty Young, but with a stern, adult attitude.

News services monitor each other. They have every program imaginable on in the newspaper main rooms.

That +1 on the top of the screen is that children with more than 1 year can watch the news or the channel logo?

@AreiasLondres That is the logo for Channel 4 +1, which shows a recording of Channel 4 from an hour earlier. They put the +1 on as a reminder of the delay.

Does Channel 4 share newsrooms with the BBC then? Because I'm sure that it's the BBC News titles in the background between 1:39 and 1:49.

No they don't, Channel 4 News comes from ITN, which is completely seperate from the BBC, although ITV News does come from the same building. It is the BBC News titles you see on the screen, as it's usual in the newsrooms to see screens showing other news channels and bulletins, so they can make sure they're not missing a story other channels have picked up on.

And the first story happens to be about water.
Wasn't there a time when the camera panned toward (or away) from the studio for the ITN bulletins on ITV?

ITV News did previously use the shot of ITN's Atrium as the virtual studio background before it was replaced with the view from Big Ben.
