One of the departing heavies in the afternoon, at Copenhagen Airport, departing for Bangkok .
Location: "Flyvergrillen" right next to runway 22R
RWY in use: 22L+R
Aircraft details:
Registration: HS-TGA
Main HUB: Suvarnabhumi Airport [VTBS]
History:
HS-TGA, was the first Boeing 747 delivered to Thai Airways International. The maiden voyage under Thai-colors, took place at Amsterdam-Schiphol [EHAM], 1979, departing for Don Mueang International Airport [VTBD], which was the original main HUB, for Thai airways at that time.
Don Mueang Airport was originally openened, as a Royal Thai Airforce-Base in 1914, but saw its first commercial flights in 1924.
The airport was closed for maintenance in 2006, and Suvarnabhumi Airport replaced its position.
Don Mueang re-opened in 2007, unfortunatly, both the domestic & international traffic stayed at Suvarnabhumi, hereby making this history-filled airport stand out like a ghost town.
Today, there are only 2 airlines based at the airport; Nok-Air & One-Two-GO Airlines, but HS-TGA is still going strong.
Wow jeg pleier å reise med den fly til Thailand :)
