  • If I could go anywhere in time, it would be Hawaii, early/mid 1900's. No debate.

  • The melody is- On the Beach at Waikiki; My Honolulu tom boy; Waikiki hula; Kawaihau; Mauna Keala; and Ninipo. Recorded in New York City Oct. 1915 by Palakiko "Frank Ferera" Ferreria a native Hawaiian and his duet partner and wife Helen Louise (Greenus) Ferera of Seattle. She was lost at sea a little over four years later from the SS President en route from Los Angeles to Seattle. He continued to record with a new partner Anthony Franchini up to the 1930's.

  • Tau Moe from Samoa & his Lady from the Island of Hawaii are one of the First!

  • Who did the tune originally? If it's really from 1915, this might be it -- but if it sounds familiar, well -- just listen to Patsy Montana's "I Want to be a Cowboy's Sweetheart" from the late thirties. It's the same tune!

  • Do you know who originally did this tune?

  • Very fun, great sound, made my whole day!
