I'm increasingly concerned by the humanitarian crisis going on in Gaza, and the almost apathetic attitude people have over it, and the unflinching support people hold for Israel.

Here is a BBC article that says Israel broke the latest ceasefire early in November 2008.

Here is another article showing that it was possibly Israel, and not Hamas, that broke the ceasefire.

Israel Rejected Hamas Ceasefire Offer In December

There are also reports of Israel using illegal white phosphorus, a chemical weapon, against Gaza. These attacks, coupled with Israel's unlawful economic blockade of Gaza from before this most current conflict, has brought the Palestinians to their knees. It's a true humanitarian crisis. If this were any other nation inflicting this, the condemnation would be a lot louder.

This is a real challange for Obama. Will he be in the hands of Israeli lobbyists, or will he stand up and say "this is wrong"? If he follows his philosophy stated in 'Audacity Of Hope', it should be the later.

  • If Gazans would stop firing rockets then this wouldn't of happened...... ANYWAYS, there both at war for centuries so leave em to it.

  • It didn't start with Hamas rocket attacks. Hamas killed all of 13 people over the 3 week conflict, 10 of whom were soldiers. Actually, some of those people were killed by Israeli 'friendly' fire. The previous ceasefire agreements weren't being honoured by Israel - Israel was blocking aid and goods from getting into Gaza. What should the Gazans do under such circumstances?

  • It says Live now

  • You can hear the UAV flying around

  • were trained to do suicide attacks in Israel. Hundreds of bomb that killed a total of 300 or 400 Israeli civilians have been used between 2000 and 2008, all by Hamas. Since this military operation, the Qassam attacks have decreased a lot and Israeli civilians are feeling more in security. They won't stop this naval blockade as long as there's going to be a military menace in Gaza.

  • @kainedamo

The ceasefire agreements were honoured by Israel, not by Hamas. The naval blockade is there to prevent weapons from entering to Gaza. Hamas is a terrorist organisation and they used to import weapons from Iran using many different means in the purpose to attack Israeli civilians. Before the operation Cast Lead, thoursands of Qassam rockets were launched to Israel and many Israeli civilians living near the borders were threatened to death. Moreoever, before 2008, Hamas fighters
