hyperspin front end - PC flash games

quick front-end test of a menu design I'm working on - crap quality vid and sound, just to show layout, wheel art, background art and genre art (inside the pointer) and flv's etc.

hi, im going to be trying to get hyper spin to work with flash games my students are making. Does hyperspin just play the swf files. Would you mind explaining how it works.

Hyperspin is basically just a menu. You can use it to "launch" pretty much any program - be it an mp3, a video, a game or other program. You need to know the basic commands to launch the flash games (this could be as simple as the game name ad the location on the computer - eg: c:/games/student1game1.swf). The best place to get advice and help is the hyperspin forum, they're great and will get you up and running from scratch - they may even do the menu an programming for you! Hope this helps :)

@Dezzan Hyperspin works pretty much out of the box, I tweaked the menu a bit with my own graphics using a free menu-editing program from the hyperspin site.

@cliffbeauchamp Reflexive is down now so I can put them all on a DVD with a patch to run the games for free if you like

I've cleaned the artwork up a bit since then. I can put it all in a zip with the database and upload it for you to something like "megaupload" if you'd like to give me a few days for that? I won't include the flvs but they were from the bigfish and reflexive sites if you want to download them yourself, I used firefox's video downloadhelper addon. I made a fair few myself though using a trial version of guncam software.

Ah - good question! Bit of a sore point actually. Someone accused me of trying to hack into their bank account in America so I revoked my artwork which everyone though was a bit childish of me. If you want the artwork, it's freely available from my photobucket account - user "redmistpete", under my "hyperspin" album. Some of my PSX wheelart is still on there too. I love the project and want to support it but I'm not really well enough to cope with the stress of hacking accusations and hate-mail.
