What version of Dwarf Fortress do you have? The version I have doesn't have sprites or anything like that.... Is there a download link?

Seriously, babys being thrown to what he thought safety only to be stolen by goblin's, people jumping into rivers to be eaten by carp, people killing others then them selfs when their sad. Looking at the long list of bad hings that can happen, instantly killing someone with a shot threw the face or heart is the KINDDEST way to die!

Did you fill your channel from the river and if so how did you stop carp getting in?

First i just used some ponds but it wasn't enough, so now its filled from the river yeah. I stopped the carp from getting in by building a fortification in the path.

Im thinking of abandoning this fortress soon, updating to the latest version and starting a new one in a place with magma. The defense here works sort of, but its horribly unoptimized and so far away from the main fortress. I want to do a flat fortress and build a nice castle on it. So that might be soonish.
