At South Bay Rod and Gun Club in Dulzura (30 miles out of San Diego). I'm shooting my Russian American Armory Saiga 308 with 16" barrel. Sorry, the target was at 100 yards and I shot this video for exhibition only for those looking into owning one of these little cannons. I intended to catch at least one shot's muzzle flash, which is often bigger than a basketball (Camera's too slow and didn't get lucky). At a semi-rapid fire pace there are no groupings. You can probably tell how the muzzle is not positioned in the same position for each follow up shot. From the bench, the best I've done is 3MOA (...And I can be a pretty bad shot). Feed this baby steel cased wolf all day with no issues. Shoot, it's probably the ONLY .308 I would recommend with Wolf since accuracy is not an issue.

  • how is this rifle at 200 yards?

  • @mcmikeblues

The rifle itself will do acceptable at 200 yards if you do your part. It depends on your ability to utilize the AK sights but most should be able to hit a man sized target fairly consistently if fully supported. I'm personally average with notch sights and prefer peep sights with small apertures. Expect at least 3 MOA.

  • Do you have any of the surefire high cap mags for this? I'm thinking about the model but want a 15-20 rd mag.

  • unfortunately, I can't have hi caps for this rifle in CA. I would have had to have owned them before 2000....Since it sounds like you live in a free state, i'd say GO FOR IT.

  • i was wondering does the 308 kick that bad? how about the 7.62x39?

  • there is significantly more recoil than a .223. a little bit more than a 7.62x39. It's not that bad.

  • haha. Thanks! I've never been called a redneck before for a couple of reasons. 1) I am a Japanese immigrant 2) I was raised in northern California by upper middle class liberals.

Gosh, I'd figure that such an articulate and progressive individual as yourself wouldn't be so shortsighted and judgmental about strangers on the internet. Thank you also for your irrelevant interest in my sexual activity, which I prefer to keep private. Good day, sir.

  • great video, what kind of rifle is that at the very front????

  • I love it when idiot anti gun morons call me a 'redneck' because I like guns, or any other gun-loving person, but they're the first little wooses to hide behind us when they need protection.

  • Are you also forbidden in the wonderful state of California from adding a pistol grip and adjustable stock?

  • @Mrbrownfolks

Also to use Hi cap magazine you need to be 922R compliant.

that is Under 10 foreign rifle parts

Sure fire magazine count as 3 . you need to swap out either the stock or front grip to a US made parts to be compliant with 922

  • you can change b-stock and add a pistol grip as long you have bullet button in your mag release, this will make the saiga or ak off the roster. oh! and make sure your stock is not foldable if your planning on putting m4 type stock make sure rivet it permanently at one position this will make it legal in california

  • ACE stocks makes a kick ass receiver block setup w/saw pistol grip and stock.

  • bullet button...go to a gunsmith and ask
