The final ballot result of MPs voting reveals the "winner" of becoming the new Speaker of the House of Commons, a New Labour Trojan horse. New Labour stitched up parliament and the electorate with their backing of the "winner". The people should do everyone a favour and make sure Bercow loses his seat at the general election, therefor kicking him out of being Speaker.

Recorded from Sky News, 22 June 2009.

  • He doesn't represent change at all, he represents more of the same whatever he wears. As a serial trougher who was among the highest expenses claimants, 'flipped' his home and avoided thousands of pounds in Capital Gains Tax I can't see him too willing to change the system having abused it so readily.

  • same old bollox, we need to protest like the french!

  • There is a saying about Rats isn't there and your never too far from one?!!! This little Politically Correct Retard is the Epitome of Right Dishonourables in Westminister who have destroyed Britain totally Disgusting!!!

  • Mr Bercow is the epitome of our broken politics. Shame on everyone who voted for him.

  • Bercow took £1000 expenses to get advice on how to avoid tax.

  • It's almost Cameron time.

  • I'm so delighted that John Bercow has pledged to "clean up politics" - maybe he could start by trying to remember whether he'd paid his capital gains tax or not.

  • is he the youngest speaker ever?

  • draged to the chair is that what they did in the old days

  • Indeed, Beckett (the lone Labour candidate?) would have been a nightmare.

But there was Young and there was Widdecombe. Unfortunately, when the Party with the Parliamentary majority chooses to be Partisan even in the selection of Speaker, then nobody wins without them.

Thus Bercow--he won because by being nominally a Tory whose sympathies lie with Labour and who is despised by his own side, he was the one they could use to annoy the other side and hopefully to indulge them.

  • john bercow was the best out of the options

imagine if Margret Beckett was elected as speaker?

  • well done. First Jewish speaker of the house!
