IMPORTANT INFO:

New HD Cinemascope player test. Okay, so I was wondering why the new player sucked. The new player SUCKS. It is now 2:1. NOT 4:3 OR 16:9. So as any film maker would do. I adapted to the new frame size. This video in particular was exported as 1280 by 532 pixels but I don't know if it will turn out HD and even fir the player properly. The size reflects SD content I found that was 640 by 266 and I think that's 2.35:1 aspect ratio. I looked for hours trying to find the proper HD resolution so I just hope this works. 2:1 is the actual player size.

EDIT:
Yup! It works like a charm! Quality is just amazing and everything clearly renders properly. Look out for the new RTBC videos as they will look much like this.

  • @RoundTheBendFilms YOU shot it with the CANON XH A1 right?, I have the other one, the XH A1s. Did you shot this on a HDV tape or with an SDHC Card and when I'm connecting the camera with the firewire on my computer ... nothing happens!! Can you HELP bro!

  • @johnfnicolas You can't record video to the SDHC card. It's not an AVCHD or digital format camera. It's HDV which means you have to record to HDV tape. Make sure the Signal STD is HD. Also, sometimes some old computers can't handle HD.

  • Hey there:

I have been trying to find a way to export anamorphic footage from Imovie 11. There is an option there under Share>Quicktime> and choose the custom image option. I was hoping you could help me or point me to something that would assist me. I think the dimensions for anamorphic is 1920 by 810. I use a hacked GH13 and the image looks stretched when it comes out of the camera. I should be able to squish it back to size when I export it. But every time it only crops.

  • @ThirgMeister Yeah in previous videos I would physically export 2.35:1 but I recently find it better to export 720p (Professional broadcast standard HD) but cover the footage with aspect bars from a PNG file. I'll make a video on it sometime later.

  • @nafees33 he focus on it, its called depth of field, or shallow focus.

  • @mauriici0 did u do it imovie 9 ?

  • @nafees33 manual focus;)

  • @nafees33 Its just the depth of field; usually this works best whilst recording with DSLR cameras since the lenses really emulate that "movie style" narrow depth of field look. Also if you really want to achieve a film look you should try playing around with the gamma curve. Good Luck!
