The supposed carpenter's son is an agglomeration of coinciding myths floating around the mediterranean during the late bronze age. A cursory take at religious history makes this quite obvious. Think for yourself. Its OK not to believe in a single word of it. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary claims, remember. There is not a single sentence in the bible that could not have been written by a person who though famine was caused by sodomy.
