my high school's production is halfway over. i'm playing bun foo. i'm sorry, but the bun foo here kills this video for me. those lines are clearly not right. i listened to the cd, and our chorus teacher is chinese and she actually asked her parents about the pronounciations and they matched up with the cd. but i guess if that's how you learned it then you had no control over the line readings.

and yes, its true. bun foo and ching ho steal the show =]

yeah our bun foo and ching ho had a hard time. for some reason when we got our scripts they forgot to send the tapes with the pronunciations on them so... yeah...

we wanted a little bit of oddness because the characters were switched in a sense meers was an asian pretending to be white pretending to be asian and bunfoo and his bro are clearly white pretending to be realy asians :)

i just played Bun Foo in my high school's show and i have to say that this one was very good. NOt as good as mine but i would say that. i just wanted to say taht in order for bun Foo to be good you have to do a lot of improv and just play with the role. That worked for me and the guy that played ching ho and i would have to say that we deff stole the show

nice. we did TMM this year at my school. it was pretty sick - we actually have a pair of twins in the drama club who got the parts of Ching Ho and Bun Fu. they were so funny.

If it's not too late, I do have some advice. Listen to the songs first on your ipod repeatedley. Once you've got the rythm and tune down, you can get the feel of the words they're saying. From there, LISTEN TO THE CD!!!! I cannot stress that out enough. It's not even about getting the pronounciations that accurate, as long as you memorize the rythm of the lines. Again rythm is everything. but that doesn't mean you should forget about making it authentic as possible.

yeahh our scripts didnt come with the cd either =[, but our director decided to order them. And they're on the MTI website. But I guess it's too late for that now. The Meers is really good though!

I play Bun Foo, and our show closes tonight =[. You should really be happy you got such a great part. I think the key is to be very physical, and don't restrict yourself to the lines. Make quirky little side movements and things like that, and everyone will love you!
