I just started longboarding at age 38. I am looking around to see where I can go to skate in NYC. What is going on with all the hating on these websites. People knocking people for the way they skate or for their discipline. We all had to start some where. We all have the same love. Maybe because i am older I see it this way, but some people need to grow up.

That hill on NarrowsAve. was the powersliding hill in the early 80's. Used to be like 30 skaters a day there. The pavement contained alot of glass which made it extremely slippery (it was repaved in the 90's). Would start pumping on 81st then start sliding a little past 80th and make it all the way down to 79th on a slide. Cool to still see skaters on it more than 20 years later. Also cool to see longboarding back. Skating in NYC was totally underground back then. Cool to see this. Thanks.

hey, i keep my bearings a lil bit loose i havent really tried going down hill (really fast yet) i dont want to sound like a noob but how should i approach it...?

I know dude, it was recorded on like a 5 year old digital camera (and that was when I made the video, that camera is like........now). I use a GoPro now, much better footy (cheque my newer vids)

@Jhat16 lol we know, this was 2 years ago, we wear helmets now [and don't suck at longboarding] so don't worry! I would just delete this shit, but it's for the memories
