Ties are useless and if there was no expectation to wear them I sure as hell wouldn't. I do what I can to avoid them and several times a month I attend work without one.
It's a bit difficult at first to learn, but once you have it it's as easy as tying your shoes.

It does take a bit of practice, but once you got it it's rather easy...just like tying your shoes.

There are other videos that might help you more than mine. However, it often takes a few tries to get the concept down. The tightening of each side is paramount. And, with that said, keep in mind that essentially you're creating a form that has a fold on each side and merely wrapping around it.

Thanks alot for the video. I know it sounds a bit cheesy, but my dad died when i was 7, and i've never been taught how to tie a tie...after a few tries I just tied my first one ever.
It actually feels really good...thanks.

It's damn confusing...that's for sure. There are a few videos like mine that you might want to check out. I talk about how you'll see things differently from your perspective...maybe I should have filmed this looking over my shoulder. The other videos don't typically mention this, but they are better filmed and one even has an alternate method that is comparable. Don't give up it's not ****ing rocket science.
