  • @honestrian well thats your preference but everyone goes with the budget they have. I'd love a HVX200 but I cant afford one right now. Besides I'm only starting out and I have a DVX100B which is great.

  • mini dv tapes? are you crazy? theres no way i would ever use tapes again

  • Great camera but the P2 cards are a rip off. Thats why most people prefer using mini DV tapes.

  • It was post color correction. Obtain as much info in the image and mess with it in post if you have that luxary. If you are not in control of who is going to color this, and may not be a part of the process play with scene files to get something you want. I shot flat.

    Best of Luck!

  • sometimes i forget that there was a time before high definition.

  • I am responding to you from another account I use more these days. It had to be letterboxed, 2.40 is not native to anything other than a 35mm projector with an anamorphic lens. this is two years ago, it was a test I made to show a few friends, didnt expect this much of an audience. youtube did not have HD back then, it was all SD but now they do, so look at my videos on this users channel. some of these clips are on there in HD.

  • you should never letterbox your widescreen video for you tube. my thai lessons on you tube are shot in dv widescreen, and the master is set to 850x480 using the h.264 codec. the only reason why you should have a small file size to begin with is so that your upload time is at a minimal. if your are shooting hd, have your file size 1280 x720, 0r even full hd size. just make sure that your file size is under a gb. 'sorry to repeat myself.

  • that is a damn good camera. it's just too bad that the video here looks like crap. seriously, if you are going to shoot in hd, and want people to see it on you tube, then make your master video an hd video. use quicktime's h.264 codec, and keep your file under a gb. sure it takes a long time to upload, but in the end, it looks great. that's the whole fuckin' point. don't worry about pixelation. there's always going to be pixelation, but it can be kept to a minimal.

  • How did you get that quality out of the camera? I have one and going to soon shoot a film? Yours looks great!

  • i just ordered this camera. after seeing this, i can't wait to start filming.
