MTR freight VF08 smokes up through MTR Tai Wai Station . MTR Tai Wai Station is one of the smoking up hot spot for the the southbound train . Locomotive in lead is ex-KCR 60 Peter Quick , it is a EMD G26CU with a GM 16-645E engine .

Turn up your volume again and enjoy the GM EMD first generation diesel engine sound !

Why are the original engines of the 60 series locos replaced? Too smoky? Too noisy? But in my memory the original engines were more silent.

As much as I LOVE the use of electric trains...it is still quite amusing to see a Diesel let out some exhaust now and again. Then, there is that familiar smell, too! ^__^
