Hi coursequikies,

I suppose I'll always be skeptical of anyone who tells me that ACIM is a "totally joyous experience" and of " having faith in an outcome of pure joy".

In reference to the word faith....what is faith IN and OF itself? does ACIM describe it with the attention it deserves? If so, I'd like to know where since I can't find it.

And what is ACIM suppose to do anyway besides making you feel "joyous"?

No doubt, ACIM enlightens but the question arises..to what degree?

Since you are familiar with ACIM, I don't really understand what you are asking for here. The Course cannot teach you the meaning of love, for that is what you are. It can help in the removal of the blocks to the awareness of love's presence. As this is accomplished, you will feel joyous. It works. We put our faith in that which we want to be true. Our beliefs will point the direction for our faith, which brings the experience that finally converts faith to belief. Is this helpful?

With all due respect, and from the very way Kristen is decribing ACIM, she gives me the impression of someone being in love- amorously.She behaves VERY much like born again Christians professing their love for Jesus. While I have no doubts that ACIM is genuine, I have grave reservations from those who invest too much on an emotional level on ACIM since there is more to ACIM than mere sentiment.

The grace of God is a completely reasonable idea, as depicted in the text of A Course in Miracles, and a totally joyous experience, as demonstrated through the practice of the workbook of A Course in Miracles. Yes, the Course is much more than sentiment, and to have a lasting experience of the joy of love, most of us must "do the work" of undoing, in which the Course excels.

I would offer to you, GnosisMan, the gift of having faith in an outcome of pure joy, and the strength to accept it now, which would allow you recognize and accept this outcome in others! Hope this is helpful... :)
