this is a good debate it would be close but the 04 has better tranny and the 10 hp doesnt make a diff bcuz of weight ive test drove a 06 se and i was amazed i never drove a 02-03 before but the 06 was really fast lol i dont kno it would be close

02-03 and 04-06 maxima gear ratios are identical except for the shorter final drive in the 6th gens. The 6th gens put out a little more power stock for stock due to a more efficient stock exhaust setup but it doesn't completely make up for the added weight. I know people have run 14.3-14.4 stock on street tires in a 5.5 gen. Haven't really seen a 6th gen do that.

Hey op why don't you race a stock 2002 maxima (6spd) vs a stock 06 maxima (6spd). I did and i killed the 2006 maxima. don't compare a 2002 maxima 4 speed auto to a 06 maxima 6 speed. I'd like it to be apples vs apples

I know that they lighter but all the races i so This maxima won against 5.5Gens 6spd i dont care its not my car its my freinds whip. just saying that its faster then 5.5gens maybe due to diffrent final Drive. and 10 more hp over 2002 maxima. When this car had just CAI it was neck to Neck with 06 6spd G35 w/ Drop in K&N filter from 40 - 120mph

Acctualy the not faster they slower due to Worser Gear Ratios ! ;) This 06 maxima 6spd stock raced stock 02 maxima se 6spd and pulled 4 cars freind of mine has one we raced at least 8 times same results !
