In this section, I discuss two important issues in the shell environment:

first, the input-output redirection and the pipe, the methods of redirecting output to a file in overwriting and appending modes, and also redirecting the results of a command into the input of another command known as piping. I also give examples in the MS DOS environment.

second, I explain the wildcards and set examples of their usage, the (*) is perhaps the most useful one which is used in numerous applications and is very handy in many situations.
