Are you playing a cane reed? Does the set have a drying system? Cheers, Seth

@texasbagpiper The reed is plastic, built on an oboe staple. There's no drying filter in the bag, it's just a seasoned leather bag. I don't get very many problems with moisture, only really if I play them a lot in the cold.

Are G borderpipes common?

@SavGaEckmann
Yes, more so in England.
Border pipes seem to come in a few different varieties depending on who makes them. This set is simplified, one drone and no bellows, the chanter uses the Highland/ Border fingering system although it plays a major G scale and can be cross fingered to play in C and Gm. A traditional set up for Half Long/Border Pipes is bellows and 3 drones in the same stock.
