John Kasich Lies Through His Teeth On Fox News About Public Employees

On Fox News October 20th, Ohio Governor John Kasich says -- while laughing -- that public employees get "free health care" and pay nothing into their pensions.

Nice try, Guv. On average, county and state employees pay more than 15 percent for their health care plans and more than 93 percent of public workers already pay for their own pension contribution, with no pick-up from their employers.

Furthermore, Ohio's teachers, nurses, firefighters and other public employees have already made great sacrifices, saving Ohio taxpayers more than $1 billion dollars to help fix the budget crisis.

How can he say these things and not go be punished? We pay $90.97 each pay for health care. We also pay into our retirement in the amount of $258.27 every pay. I'm not ashamed to give the facts but he sure is!

I also wonder why we don't talk about how he and his elected friends are also public employees....yet they managed to exempt themselves from the law. So TRUE!!! I, a public employee, pay over 10% into my own health care and over 15% into my pension....and it is a total TRUTH that government officials like JK will be EXEMPT from any and all parts of this horrid bill.

Kasich rails on and on about public employees, but refuses to admit that he too is a public employee. I wonder what he pays?. I further wonder how much he makes?

John is a total jerk..he has no clue as to how actual public employees live, work and are paid. Many of us have to scrimp and save, and have for years. He has millions of dollars probably sitting in some foreign account he earned when he was in "that other line of business". Many of my co workers cannot even afford the family insurance policy -- John, either get informed or get out.

Most intelligent people would have assumed he was talking about the people who don't pay anything towards their health insurance or retirement, not every single public employee. I guess it has to be spelled out very carefully for some people to understand. Never have I heard him say nor do I believe from any ad, that he believes that every public work pays nothing. What he is saying is that there are some who pay under the 15%/10% or pay nothing towards their benefits.

That is a categorical LIE! I pay almost $300 a month toward my healthcare costs and paid into my pension plan for 30 years! He has money to give his cabinet members a two digit raise right out of the box while screaming, "We're out of money!" What he really means is he doesn't have enough money to split it with his buddies if he has to pay for previously arranged obligations!
