San Diego Padres @ LA Dodgers MLB Preview

Jake Peavy is off to a great start this season. Peavy in 2 starts this season has given up 1 run and 5 hits with 12 strikeouts. Peavy allowed 1 run over 9 innings in his last start last Saturday against the Dodgers. Peavy has pitched very well against the Dodgers over his career. There was a little controversy following Peavy's start against the Dodgers as his hands were dirty and some speculated Peavy was applying pine tar to the baseball. Padre manager Bud Black claimed it was from dirt and from the rosen bag and not pine tar and not much transpired afterwards so it was put to rest. Peavy could be on his way to his second straight Cy Young award. Brad Penny pitched well in his first start at home this season limiting the Giants to 4 hits and no ones over 6 2/3rd innings. Penny had a great 2007 at home as in 19 starts he sported an ERA just over 3. The Padre bats were ice cold at San Francisco and this one will go under like we had it when these two pitchers met on Saturday. Play Under 6 ½ runs.
