Wolf encounter or attempted attack?

Some pics and clips from an encounter we had. I can't rightly call it an attack, as an attack never occured. However, who is to say what could have happened if the dog was not there. Maybe the smell of the dog was the lure that brought the wolves in, and maybe not. The wolves never made a move toward the dog untill the dog placed himself between the wolves and the kids

@ItsWolfeh Yeah,I rarely just shoot an animal unless it's in the process of hurting my animal.I prefer letting animal control set live traps for them any way.I have actually just returned a dog to its yard a few times.There's nothing fun about getting up at night and going out barefooted to shoot the neighbors dog.I'd rather avoid that if I can.LOL

@ItsWolfeh I'm afraid I don't understand your statement.In regards to shooting dogs,I have done that before,But usually after giving the owner three warnings.Also it was with a high powered air rifle since fire arm laws don't apply to them.I wouldn't want to shoot a wolf,but I would if I had to.
