Sorry to correct you, but 'Rules' is the oldest restaurant in London- opened in 1798 in Covent Garden (Maiden Lane), and still serving to this day!
Veeraswamy though is indeed a very fine restaurant, and the oldest Indian restaurant in London (as well as the UK), that is still around, even though there were Indian restaurants in London long before that! In London terms, 1926 is quite young!! Hope you enjoyed your trip :-)
