This is the poem "The Raven" by Edgar Allen Poe, as read by Garrison Keillor on Garrison's "Prarrie Home Companion" show back in the 1990s. I took all of the photos in this video, but these photos were taken in March 2009 at the Cincinnati Art Museum. I don't "Own" any of the items in the photos, save for my husband, Tony, (if you want to say that I "Own" Tony, mind you!)

I just thought that I would combine some poetry and some art work in this video. I think that you all will enjoy watching this video, because if you pay attention to what Garrison is reading here and the photos, there is a whole lot of irony in the photos here.

  • I really love what you've done here. I love "The Raven" and had never heard Keillor's version.

Great photos! I think I need to visit this museum. The photo of your fella at the end is classic. :)

  • @defygravity74 You know what? You're the first person to notice that I put that photo of Tony @ the end of this video being ironic after myself. I didn't catch it until I played it back after I had made this video back then and I died laughing then showed the video to Tony and told him that particular photo was ironic right then, because it hadn't crossed my mind about what was being read @ that precise moment on the track.

  • That was a happy accident! :) I love how the other photos fit so well, too.

  • There was a later version which was done live on A Prairie Home Companion where the background instruments were more subtle, and (IMO) perfectly done - they added atmosphere without being blatant - hardly noticeable, but a strong ambiance. If anyone could point me to that one... I'd be grateful.
