Michael Jordan and Larry Bird first met on a basketball court during the pre 1984 LA Olympics tour during which the college based USA National Team, coached by Bobby Knight and starring Jordan, Patrick Ewing, Sam Perkins and others, played a series of exhibition games against NBA stars.

This was the fifth meeting between Michael Jordan and Larry Bird in the 1984-85 season, which was Jordan's Rookie year. Going into this game, which was played at the Hartford Civic Center instead of the Boston Garden, the Celtics had beaten the Bulls 3 out of 4 times.

The Final Score of this game was Celtics 115 - Bulls 105.

Wow, you can really hear them talking trash to each other on the court. It seems like the majority of the trash talking is coming from Bird and the Celtics. Oh, well...this is the age when the Celtics were at their best and ruled the NBA...Jordan and the Bulls would have their chance but they would have to wait for the 90's.
