My new Proto 2000 0-8-0. I had to add electrical pickup on the tender trucks, and a Digitrax DZ125PS
The running qualities of the steamer ids outstanding, although she's week in the pulling dept. I believe Bullfrog snot will fix that issue.

  • Hi Gary, thank you for bringing this to my attention since I did not mention it. I should have replace the 3w with 12w bulbs, since I didn't they both went poof. :(

Although it really wasn't an issue for me, I don't use lights because my prototype (and many others in the 30's didn't run lights in the day, and they definitely didn't work as the model forward/reverse function, they both would be lit regardless)

I used the 9 pin DCC connector and plugged into the Proto board.

    Thanks for looking.

  • Hi... great work! Question: with the Digitrax Decoder DZ125PS, did you have to replace the 3W bulbs with 12W bulbs? How did you connect the Z scale decoder to the 8-pin DCC connector (or did you?)?

    Thanks!
