Excellent! I thought about Mother Maybelle as soon as I heard this. And then I see the comments from froggiechar.
I think you were born about 50 years too late. It's rare and encouraging to see someone of your age doing this kind of music. I thoroughly enjoy it, and you do it so well.
That was beautiful, Dorian! Thanks for sharing it. Did I tell you that I have Mother Maybelle's autograph, in a 1966 Johnny Cash Program Booklet? She, Anita and Helen Carter performed in the Johnny Cash Show, when they came to Seattle that year. I attended! Also, I used to have a "John Prine" CD, in which he sang this; in fact, I think the Title of the CD was "Diamonds in the Rough". Keep up the great singing and guitar playing, Dorian. Blessings, Charlie
Old as I am, I only know the original Carter Family from reissues on CD's—but you really do evoke the sound and feeling of their songs. Hope it's all right if I share this on my Facebook Page. —Ken
You're surely the best, Dorian. Thanks.
