  • to me, this is the peak of wcw. this is the best storyline they ever produced. it still amazes me how sting got so hot, but didn't say a word for over a year. this is defenitly the peak for the nwo, after this it got boring and pointless. and who says hogan never sold for anyone? he sure did a good job of selling his fear of sting.

  • Sting never got a World Title run that he deserved. Stinger should have beaten Hogan cleanly at Starcade and held the belt for a LONG time.. WCW took advantage of Sting b.c they knew he was so loyal.

  • @MikeyKnox1 But it killed the storyline. It cut Sting's success out from under the fans and made the whole thing cheaper. Letting him hold the belt for a while, then lose it back to someone (again, all legitimately) would have prolonged the storyline. Wcw started to fall apart when they took the belt from Sting.

  • @TheoHuxtable07 correction * Hogan felt he should not job

  • @jmchaos813 I think some people are just a little annoyed that Hogan did not feel like jobbing to Sting clean. In Bischoff's book he doesn't really give much insight into what was going on in Hogan's head during the 97 Starrcade, but I guess Hogan felt that he should job to Sting because in his mind Sting didn't prepare enough or care enough about the match to be in better shape. That's pretty much all that he says in his book about it.

  • @jmchaos813

Yeah, he did. Until the point he actually had to let Sting go over when it was needed: Starrcade.

  • @jcordell23 agreed.

  • so if somebody is interested the same as I - I found the mp3's in this promo! one song is called "extreme", it's from Northcote & Jehan and the other song is called "mosh pit" and it's from Merrill Schreer DiFonzo!!!

  • @jcordell23 Long before NWO or hogan, sting had his share of runs with the belt in the early 90's. He was easily the most popular wrestler in wcw so he didn't need the push the title would give him in these days.

  • @poethepoetspoet no, I agree with you on the Hogan not wanting to job to anyone thats a fact but the reason Sting didnt win cleanly is because they wanted to drag on the feud longer.

  • @jmchaos813 The problem with hogan is that he wasn't willing to job to anyone. This build up should've ended with him losing cleanly to Sting, but it didn't probably because hogan wasn't willing to.
