Private bus companies pay their drivers low wages forcing them to take on additonal jobs just to make ends meet. This causes a safety threat as the drivers are very fatigued at the start of their day.Passengers are put at risk by this situation

  • Ive done 16 hrs straight but arrived to the destination shaky and extreamly exhausted. Passed out on arrival. El Paso, TX - Bakersfeld, Ca.

  • I nearly fell asleep behind the wheel the other day but i had my anti sleep alarm on and it sounded so i pulled over and had a break. They are not that expensive and i got mine from no nap

  • Thanks for posting this. Oh the horror stories we could tell. I've been in the transit industry for 36 years.

  • Scary stuff. I know drivers doing this part-time with Disney, and all are working other full time jobs with little if any sleep. The average pay for these drivers is about $7-10 an hour. This is why it is hard to get full time drivers. Raise the pay or take chances and see what happens...

  • well this sux huge pinis

  • well i think the price of liveing should be cut down thats why ppl r trying to make a liveing to have a roof over thier head and eat and electric and water and gas and car payments and medical bill if they cant get medicaid this is why ppl dont get enough sllep because they r trying to make a liveing i dont understand why bissness wont pay more and price of liveing wont cute down this is crazy

  • the solution is simple,no part time driver and no one is allowerd to have a second job, increase pay for full time drivers to make the job more atractive, this would cut driver shortage...simple.

  • Typical, under pay the drivers, make it so you can't make a living then wonder why people die. I did this same job in Canada. We were union and got paid 750 a week plus optional weekend work. You the pasinger cheap out and take the risk!
