Day by day
Day by day
Oh Dear Lord
Three things I pray
To see thee more clearly
Love thee more dearly
Follow thee more nearly
Day by day
Day by day
Day by day
Oh Dear Lord
Three things I pray
To see thee more clearly
Love thee more dearly
Follow thee more nearly
Day by day
Day by day
Day by day
Oh Dear Lord
Three things I pray
To see thee more clearly
Love thee more dearly
Follow thee more nearly
Day by day
Day by day
Day by day
Oh Dear Lord
Three things I pray
To see thee more clearly
Love thee more dearly
Follow thee more nearly
Day by day
Day by day
Day by day
Oh Dear Lord
Three things I pray
To see thee more clearly
Love thee more dearly
Follow thee more nearly
Day by day
Day by day
Day by day
Oh Dear Lord
Three things I pray
To see thee more clearly
Love thee more dearly
Follow thee more nearly

I can honestly say, there is no Broadway diddy closer to my heart than the one you've just heard: Day, Bidet.

We are doing the play Godspell in our school and I have the honor of singing this song :D Too bad I won't ever sound as good as this but it's just exciting to be able to sing songs from the past that have fantastic meaning(:

How times have changed. This was a hit back in another lifetime kids. Today this wouldn't see the light of day or at best would be marginalized as "christian music". You Progressives remember that the next time you spew your nonsense. Youth culture in 71/72 was a hell of a lot more liberal than is today, yet this song existed as did the play.

For the curious- this lyric is actually adapted from the prayer of St. Richard of Chichester.

"god" the invention of man to cope with the harsh realities of everydaylife and to cope with ones own personal mortality its called a denial of fatalism there was no first couple in paradise no fall no tower of babel no universial flood this is all world mythology!

@wingman572 I was born in 71 which to me that was such a good period in music and I first heard that song on a show called Circle Square in the seventies.
