I totally felt the same about the Tom Petty vibe...did a little more thinking on it. Check out the song "Learnin' to Fly" by Tom Petty and compare...you'll notice it's basically the same chords in a different key. Regardless...a killer song from one of my all-time fav bands. Dave and crew can basically do no wrong at this point.

This song totally has a Tom Petty vibe, and Dave did play a drums stint for the Heartbreakers. I hope they do some more stuff in the same vein of the material from The Colour and the Shape sometime soon but I still like this kind of song.
