" I don't have to come here... to Rejang Park... This is not the place for a prime minister to come. These were the words of our Prime Minister when he was campaigning in the Sibu By-election on the 15th May 2010.
Malaysian sarawakians have often said that people of peninsular Malaysia do no understand or appreciate the people,culture and natural beauty of Sarawak.
This video made from images taken in Sibu during the by-election shows the serenity of Sibu's Rejang Park with the swan commemorating the Foochows arrival in Sibu a couple of centuries ago at the height of the White Rajah's rule of Sarawak.
With such a historical and natural heritage, the Sarawak Govt should push for UNESCO world heritage listing and put it on the world map like Penang and Malacca.

i feel humbled with what you said... however, more and more Malaysians have visited Sibu. i even have a friend from sibu studying in the same uni with me...
We don't have to be there to visit, we just have to meet with people from Sabah and Sarawak to know about the place. Cross fingers that the appreciation and the understanding of the people of sabahans and sarawakians will change with the upcoming elections!
