This doesn't do justice to what they were as a live act. Saw them in '89 at the Jolly Boatman (now demolished) at East Molesey, & the guitars & dums were HUGE, really rocked the venue. She was a real star, short, pretty, brave & blonde standing out fronting the unit with real character & dazzling under the spotlight amidst a jangle of tamborines
Shame they ran dry of material & couldn't develop

This was from Going Live, a 'live' Saturday morning kids tv show, on air for up to 3 hours with several music performances, It had to be mimed because it was physically impossible to turn around a live sound check for each band in the confines of a live show back then, This is your reason for the mime, Top of The Pops, the BBC's flagship chart music show was the same. I used to shoot these shows, thank goodness for Jools Holland nowadays.

I saw the Darling Buds many times in the late 80's...Andrea could definately sing...Class band

listen to some proper live material and you'll be proved wrong. the band should not be critisized for miming, it's just down to whatever the show demands
