Never really thought much about how the behaviour of police, soldiers, etc., sent in by the British government had impacted on the lives of ordinary catholic Irish people.
Not a supporter of violence or the IRA but I can understand why such organisations formed and why it became a civil war.

@mattissius14 I know it would, but it could have degenerated into a larger scale guerrilla war, that would have been painful for the Brits and could have got them to make some kind of negotiation. To be honest the best would have been if they secretly helped to train and arm the IRA, instead of backing up the Brits in there fight against them.

that would have been interesting. could possibley have changed everything. one thing is though the bloody 26 counties gov't should care more about the north.
