This is the only footage I've ever seen of Jim Chapin playing a drum-set. Every other vid is practice pad only. He was about 85 in this video. Still great technique despite his age - but obviously he was well past his prime.
He worked as a gigging drummer for many years - is there no footage at all of him playing in his younger days?
I'd love to see that....

@Chapichap0 He is so efficient and musical?? Your kidding me right...And what the hell is a doublet???? Every drummer on a track is efficient or else he wouldnt be in the damn band!! And like i said no he has no technique and is an arm swinger in his solos. Did u just start playing drums or something?? Hitting the drums hard is not musical...

@fuzzybear718 Do you really think Travis has not technic ? He's so musical, not TOO MUCH technic like Portnoy. Hearing Take off Pants and jackets, he's just so efficient, musical... And he doesn't use double bass drum but in some soli he does some incredible doublet very efficient and quick...
Anyway, Ulrich isn't so good i'm ok. Some compares Ulrich to Jordison... Jordison is not musical but so efficient, fast, powerful and matches so good with Slipknot's style...

@Chapichap0 Travis Barker is not good. All he is is an arm swinger. He has no technique or anything that sets him apart from all other mediocre drummers. He is just some guy with tattoos, and expensive ugly drum set, who hits his kit as hard as he can. He got lucky by being with Blink 182 just like Lars Ulrich got lucky with Metallica.

@dkmarine12345 Oh yes Travis is good but a bit to commercial maybe ! Maybe Jim Chapin kicks ass too but I don't see crazy stuff and speed and musicality in this video, I guess he begins to be really old. Even though he's really good on snare, I just watched his moeller technic video.
