  • 2:41 mic is doing a bad hide and go seek at the top of the screen

  • Upstarts!. You never knew the joy of watching a 16 mm print and then going out for chowder at Jack August's. Come to think of it, I don't miss either one. There's something inadequate about crying over technological processes and commercial establishments. But, if Hitler did it, I guess it's OK.

  • This is a scream. Brilliant. I still miss Sheehans and Curtis and Schwartz. I offered to volunteer at Forbes to help get more of the videos on the shelves. There are tons of them still waiting to be processed.

  • Very funny. Could have had a line about Herrell's loyalists shuttering Cold Stone too.

  • Ah... Sheehan's basement, Curtis & Schwartz, Aguirre, Pantry Moths... well done!!! Nail on the head.

I do wonder what Bruno Ganz thinks of this meme?

  • Very funny! So did all of the videos end up at the Forbes Library?

  • big hit with the conservation students here at smith!!!!!

  • The film seems exceptional, and the subtitles to rchange the story is brilliant! Just awesome! Great ode to our beloved former Pleasant Str Videos!

  • This scene from "Downfall", with amusing and clever subtitles is seen a lot.

I wonder how many people have seen the film through in its entirety, and realized what a superb, serious and agonized film it is. It ranks with "Schindler's List", or "Saving Private Ryan" as deeply human, and chilling art.

Well known for warm and playful roles in films like "Vitus" and "Bread and Tulips", Bruno Ganz delivers the definitive portrayal of Hitler. Sadly, more people know the spoofs than know his genius.
