A tripleheaded Amtrak Lake Shore Limited #48 cruises through Amherst Ohio on its way to the Elyria Amtrak Station. The engineer gave us a GREAT salute! This train was about four and a half hours late. Sorry about the camera shake, we don't have a tripod. =)

  • Why Three Locomotives! the amtrak auto train, america's largest passenger train) has only 2!

  • @TheDylanJoyce Amtrak probably needed the third engine in New York or something. They were probably just transporting it.

  • What time does the Lake Shore Limited come through Cleveland?

  • @OhioRails 48 goes through at 5:00 a.m. and 49 goes through around 3:30 a.m.

  • Nice! Train forty-late living up to its name haha.

  • Yep, the Late-For-Sure-Limited. =)

  • I wonder why it was 2 hours late. I also filmed this train when it was 2 hours late and it was going real fast.

  • Thanks! All four of the Amtraks (Capitol Limited 29 and 30, and Lake Shore Limited 48 and 49) come through Amherst in the middle of the night between the hours of 1 and 5 (if they are on time). My brother and I are always happy when there is a late Amtrak becuase we rarely get to see them! =)

  • Nice video! You probably were glad to see the train so late; filming in the middle of the night doesn't yield much in return...

  • Thanks!
