In Pursat Province soapstone sourcing, carving or trading represents about 3 percent of total employment. The German Technical Cooperation Program for Private Sector Promotion (GTZ-PSP) has supported the stone carving sector since 2006. In July 2010 the GTZ PSP design competition brought together soap stone carvers and design students to give new ideas to traditional craftsment. The film features Cambodian artist Suos Sodavy, who acts as a teacher and jury member for the contest.
