  • This version is cut off unfortunately. But it's a wonderful song & the world would be a better place if every person inculcated it into themselves, their children & their nation. Because, as the full version shows, we can each fill the world with love at every stage of Life & be the one to inspire others to do likewise.

  • Just love it and always have. Wonderful how the character creates passion by being passionate.

  • How did someone write a piece of music that could be sung at two different tempos, and still fit? It sounds like it might be repeating just four notes. Or just a few. She is singing faster than the choir, but is still in time with the music. How does that work?

  • One of my favourite 90 seconds on the whole of youtube!

  • Thank you so much for posting this. I searched for a while on YouTube for it. Petula Clark and Peter O'Toole were perfect actors for this movie. Outgoing vs. shy characters with such love & respect for each other. This is one of my favorite scenes where the boys first realized the kind of person she was & fell instantly in love with her! I love how the boys wind up singing faster to her singing pace.

  • Preciosa pelicula!!

  • This is such an inspired scene - it says so much, so economically.

  • @joshuaisgorinth

You're just hearing the character of the Headmaster's wife, intentionally off-key to make the Petula Clark character shine -- although she really glowed well enough, all on her own.

    A great little scene, IMO

  • yeah its a little off tune though

  • This moment was the button for me to love her character. This was an ingenious scene.
