And those that are simply Classicaly trained copy machines have attacked creative musicians for far to long. They have an elities mentality, that has now finaly, turned back upon them

Im not against preservation of standards. But theres a vein in the classicaly trained musician camp, filled with musicians that can only copy. If a musician chooses to preserve traditional work, as PART of their musical life, thats one thing. But exclusivly, only being able to play other peoples music, in my opinion, is missing the core point of art and music IE creativity

Good guitar playing amigo

@by0nd Classical and Jazz are, in my opinion the best music to improv with. You learn so much working within a basic structured created by a true master. But this is what seperates the men from the boys, and the masters from the slaves. People who simply mimic others music, will never gain any level of recognition, because people are more interested in listening to the original not the copy, whch are a dime a dozen

@Fireblaze15 Actualy I do the opposite. I bash guitar players, that all they can do is play other peoples music and who lack the fire to improv. It doesnt take a deep sense of creativity to play someone elses music. It simply takes repitition. Anyone can sit in a room, and play the same piece of music, over and over again, until you achieve some level of accomplishment at it. True musicians are the ones that create their own music and when playing a standard, improvise over it.

@xsupernazix I dont understand why people need to bash guitarists for improvising. Look if you wanna play the original piece note for note and act like some musical douche bag than by all means be one. In this day and age theres a new thing called "improvising" where you put your own material into what you just learned and maybe make something totally different. If everyone just played "original" pieces of music then it wouldnt evolve at all.
