In a speech given at the graduation ceremony for the University of California Santa Barbara graduating class of 2008, the speaker gives an explanation of the global economy and how we should see ourselves as global citizens. Global citizens see themselves as a responsible member of a world community and not just to our local, regional or national communities that are all to often only defined by borders on a map. He mentions how our actions affect others and how the actions of others affect us, in our now globalized world of infinite & instantaneous information. He also speaks on how social networks have revolutionized how information is spread and knowledge is created.

  • It wont go beyond 5:34

  • I had to stop listening to this.....if this is what they are teaching now we are doomed. DOOMED!!! What we have here is the corrupt leading the blind into a pit. Sheeple Supreme. The global elite want 6 billion dead out of the 6.5 billion that are alive. All they want is enough slave types alive to serve them in their ideal environmentally perfect paradise. I'll bet the Bilderberg Group played this thing and were laughing their asses off....Viva La Revolution.

  • This is a perfect example of what happens to you when you go to college. No matter what you may learn or what degree you pursue, you will come out liberal and indoctrinated

  • More globalization and interdependency will result in better efficiency and therefore less jobs and lower wages. Exactly the opposite of what this dummy and the vast majority of people want. On top of that, if the global system fails, EVERYONE goes down. I'd say the world need to be dividing into local, independent and secure economies.

  • What a well-indoctrinated little Obamabot!

  • He doesn't know they want him dead.

  • I would have Booo'd this guy quite loudly and yelled death to the NWO! He seems to think globalization will solve the problems and injustices around the world, when its the globalists that have caused that. Further globalist control will only make sure everyone gets to experience a new standard of living/standard of injustice. Well, 1 of 9 of us will get to experience it, if they have their way.

  • Global citizenship? I really do not think this guy wants to make a speech that sounds like he is promoting Bush's NWO, does he? Also, if you look at the trends occurring in other countries, nationalism is on the rise. If this is about trade, then why describe it as something that sounds like tearing down borders? Good fences make good neighbors. One world govt is the definition of tyranny. You don't have to tear down borders in order to have fair trade
