Unfathomable today but I stumbled upon this crazy (clazy) commercial for Genesee Beer from the 1950's, and had to share it. With stereotypes and hops from the Sacramento Valley, that's the "Genese-cret!"

  • This commercial is offensive? Well....ME SO SOLLY!!!

  • For all the PC bashers,

I not a big fan of PC myself, but PC is there for "some idiot" who does not know when to stop. :) Even though now PC nazi's don't know when to stop LOL

in conclusion PC is a necessity in society. Plus why would you want to unnecessarily offend particular group anyway??? Addicted to trouble and fight?

  • I would have broken that bottle over the chinks head then walked out

  • mmmm genesee beer so delicious and cheap, people think it tastes like crap because it doesn't make an appearance on TV anymore. I love this country; in order for something to be worth buying you have to see it in an ad on TV first, like bud lite and iphone.

  • @infernalphast9 I understand what you say there. I feel today's use of caricaturing people in cartoons often feels very generic and blank when it comes to what made it seem more inspiration back then regardless of how our standards were then.

  • @sherriffnoldie It's more a regional brand. I'm sure it's sold all over New York, but I was able to spot it here in Toledo, OH as well.

  • @sycoraxrock The real focus of the ad is that a man orders a beer in a Chinese restaurant. The fact that it takes place in a Chinese restaurant is all we really have to know to understand the waiter's questioning over why this man would want the beer in the first place.

  • @kissmusiclover It's a local/regional brew. These types aren't meant to be nationwide like Miller or Budweiser. There use to be a lot of them back then. I did notice Genesee getting sold at a gas/food store just a few houses away from me here in Toledo though.

  • @infernalphast9 Love Sam Adams & Guinness. Never had New Castle, will have to try it sometime. I've had Chinese beer (Tsingtao) and while it is "light," it has a nice toasty after taste that is great in the summertime.

  • This video reinforces the the stereotype that white American males prefer watered down piss beer.

  • I'm clazy too!!!

  • today's standards are idiotic
