Betty boop à commencé sa carrière le 9 aout 1930 et l'achévera en 1939. Betty Boop fut produite par les studios
Fleischer, Dave et Max Fleisher dit "les pionniers du cartoon". Betty Boop doit son physique accrocheur et déluré que nous adorons tous au coup de crayon d'un maître de l'animation américaine, Myron Natwick surnommé "Grim". Myron Natwick est étudiant aux Beaux Arts de Chicago puis de New York et de Vienne, avant de rejoindre les frères Fleischer où il donnera naissance au personnage Betty Boop. C'est la chanteuse Helen Kane qui a été utilisée comme modèle. La ressemblance est d'ailleurs extraordinairement frappante. C'est en 1931 que Betty trouve sa vraie voix. Lors d'un concours d'imitation de Helen Kane, Mae Questel, née le 13 septembre 1908 à New York, a 17 ans quand elle est remarquée pour sa voix par Max Fleischer. De 1930 à 1939, Questel sera la voix de Betty Boop dans plus de 150 dessins animés. Elle prêta également sa voix à Olive , la compagne de POPEYE . Mae Questel doubla encore Betty Boop dans Qui veut la peau de Roger Rabbit avant de décéder le 4 janvier 1998 à New York. Si Betty Boop est encore très populaire aujourd'hui, c'est pour ce qu'elle représente. Elle est la première star féminine du monde de l'animation à s'être affranchie du rôle de simple faire-valoir, grâce à un mélange de liberté, d'autonomie et de gentillesse mais aussi de sensualité et d'inoubliables « boop boop a doop ». Les Frères Fleischer ont fait de Betty Boop un vrai personnage concerné par son temps, et Betty est sûrement l'une des premières féministes du petit écran.

The producers copied all the same the voice of Helen Kane and its physical aspect. It is indeed the same feminine type ( beautiful woman) and the same type of voice. For the voices, Mae Questel is the most famous it is certain.

What results? Where are you searching? Since there were no formal screen credits, there is no Internet source that confirms this. Bonnie Poe's voice as mentioned can be confirmed since she is the one seen in the HOLLYWOOD ON PARADE short appearing as a "wax figure" who is attacked by Bela Lugosi. Many sources have mistakenly identified this as Helen Kane.

Yes, Mae Questel did STOPPING THE SHOW, which was the first of the actual BETTY BOOP cartoon series after the TALKARTOONS (1929-1932) were retired. Interesting, BETTY BOOP'S RISE TO FAME uses a clip from STOPPING THE SHOW and THE OLD MAN OF THE MOUNTAIN. Both have the voice performed by Mae Questel. Yet in the main body of RISE TO FAME, it is Bonnie Poe who is BETTY during the mock interview sequences.
