Elise Hwasser was an actress working in Stockholm between 1850-1890
Her portrait is drawn on a thick cotton watercolor paper with a freebe 2B pen, no eraser. Erasers are for sissies. ;)

  • you said "Erasers are for sissies" :O

the art teacher who learned me how to draw from perception told me that erasing stuff while you draw is part of drawing ?

and no drawing is perfect without using your eraser !^^

    now i'm all confused!

    steady hand though.

  • That is a bit of a joke. I do sketch, but I transfer the essentials of the sketch to the large paper (just by adding some coal to the back of the sketch then filling in the lines) before I start rendering the sketch. But eraser or not, I dont think it makes a better, or worse, artist. Find your style then go with it :)

  • That is brilliant, you have an awesome hand at drawing. Much better than me. All I can do is cartoon work.
