Affectionately known as The Jug, the P-47 Thunderbolt is as big as the American Spirit and holds a unique honor in the ranks of World War II fighters. Ironically the original concept was born in Russia and can be seen by its rugged and hearty design. Like a gentle giant, the P-47 handles with grace but packs an enormous punch. This plane was much heavier and bulkier than other fighter planes of its day, outweighing aircraft like the Fw 190 by several thousand pounds.

Equipped with a large, powerful radial engine, it looked as tough as it was. However, when British pilots first saw the P-47, it was often mocked due to its size. The light, maneuverable Spitfires could get on a P-47s tail with ease in test trials. What they didnt know at that time was the P-47 was different type of fighter and the battles were to be fought at higher altitude where the air is thin, using high-energy tactics. Both the British and the Germans soon found out, in the right hands, the P-47 was lethal.

  • Do these work in FS9? A friend from Indoflyer (an Indonesian FS community) really wished for these.

  • @ThreeSevenSpeedway sorry mate, there is no plan to bring this specific plane to FS9.

  • How do u add logos to your video? surely its not photoshop :)

  • @Juppie902 we add photoshop images to our videos all the time :)

  • @valkyrie321 oh, awesome i must say :D but i got a question, i can render a plane or a car etc etc, but i cant render letters, lets say render the letter A. ok so i cutoff its "outskirts" now how i cut the inside edges of it?

    Thanks.

  • @Juppie902 the trick is all about pan cropping and the text tools, if you are using Sony Vegas.

  • No. You fly with a meat popsicle.

  • This is such an awesome video! Really professional. The music is so compelling and really helps to define the epic detail that is the A2A Razorback. Great Work!

  • It's a fantastic simulation. A2A have done some brilliant work with this and all their other aircraft. However, I still think the P-47 is an ugly aircraft!! But I like ugly.

  • What is the song ? 5star Video! :)

  • brilliant. Everything A2A makes is just oozing quality!. I love the B-17 as its as close to owning a real aircraft I will ever get, what with the awsome hanger system and the fact that you have to take so much care of everything, including checking the oil/oxygen etc.

Cant wait for the P-51 Mustang!! Its gonna be sweet.

  • D-11 im guessing

  • at 0:01, I was like wait a mintue, am I on the right website?

  • Great video, Great aeroplane, What's the music used?

  • Oh yeah, and don't forget that we already have the Wings of Power I version of the P-47D for the loyal FS9 customers. I chose this version because it doesn't really fill up the space on my PC :), although installations are slightly different from other A2A installations due to the appearance of an FSX fix that adds DDS textures and other FSX features that help the aircraft to run well in FSX.

  • @valkyrie321 I believe they have made an excellent decision for not shoehorning on an FS9 model, particularly because none of the Accu-Sim details are even possible within FS9.
