Be. Toolkit Tip 2: Money Talks

Check that your EFTPOS machine is easy to use. Does it beep loudly when you enter each key? Is it simple for all people to reach and use? Many baby boomers have low vision and need to be able to easily pay without worrying they might push the wrong button or account. When the machine beeps, it lets people know that they have successfully entered a key.
Also, consider offering to swipe customers' cards for them, as trying to locate the narrow swipe slot can be challenging for some people. It would be a real shame to lose a customer at the point of sale! Make sure your till is visible on both sides, so the customer can see the amount for sale and not rely on lip reading.
