The Grand Ballroom of Sydney's Sheraton was turning climate change sceptics from the door to hear Britain's Lord Christopher Monckton, in Australia for two weeks to challenge the climate orthodoxy. Underwriting the tour is John Smeed, a semi-retired engineer who's received recognition and many awards for his work over 40 years in the Australian air conditioning and industrial refrigeration industry.

Fran talks to Lord Monckton about climate change.

  • @aquartlow Nice try, but only an idiot would accept anything less than a full script of the speech to base their opinion on. I highly doubt that you have read or heard the speech in its entirety..

  • @TheGamanic

I can help. I can conveniently tell you to read the words C. Stewart uttered and you can figure them out yourself context or no contest. The words " No matter if the science of global warming is all phony" confuses you?

  • @aquartlow Have you got an edition of the speech in full without context conveniently hidden?

  • @TheGamanic Christine Stewart, Canadian Minister of the Environment: "No matter if the science of global warming is all phony... climate change [provides] the greatest opportunity to bring about justice and equality in the world."

Check these out and get back with me re the "is is a scientific issue, not a political one" thing.

    Peace

  • @TheGamanic "it is a scientific issue, not a political one, hence anyone should, if their political beliefs are rational, base their views on scientific evidence not dogma. Surely you do that?"

I totally disagree. I am not trying to be disagreeable. It has always been political and NEVER seriously scientific.

Step back and look at the entire Earth-as-Mother movement. It's natural home is not the Conservative world but the leftwing world. Look at the membership in toto. Watermelon.

  • @aquartlow I highly doubt that anyone involved in climate science is "running scared" from the supposed "Climategate 2.0" (when there wasn't even a first one). Furthermore why do you suppose that liberals are the ones that support climate science; it is a scientific issue, not a political one, hence anyone should, if their political beliefs are rational, base their views on scientific evidence not dogma. Surely you do that?

  • @TheGamanic Let's destroy all our emails and records. Cool. And FOIA? That only applies to Conservatives. We liberals operate by our own rules.

Climategate 2.0 has you terrified. You cannot stop it.

  • @aquartlow More "Manufactured Crisis by Scientifically Ignorant Conspiracy Theories" 2.0. Talk about clutching at straws..

  • Does smoking cause Lung Cancer? Or does the human body flush the toxins from cigarettes as effectively as the planet (removes/ cleans/ flushes/ filters/ dilutes) the waste pumped into the atmosphere as Lord Mockery suggests??
